It is so small that the controls are on the headphone cord, which means
that you have to use those earbuds.

I haven't tried the new Shuffle yet, but I did look at one in the store.
You won't believe how small it is.  From what I have read, it uses the
VoiceOver software like the Nano, but on this model the clock talks.

How does the new iPod Shuffle with speech already built into it work
then? I assumed it was the same as the iPod Nano.

This sounds to me like it works the same as the iPod Nano. I Don't have
a Shuffle myself, so I'm curious as to how it works.
