[Electronics-talk] new IPhone and ITunes

Well, I can't argue with you there, but I think Apple had to do there part
as well. I don't think any of the screen readers worked with iTunes until
iTunes 8 came out. Furthermore, I think all of the screen readers, except
maybe Screen Access, stopped working when iTunes 9 was released. To get
iTunes 9 working, there had to be an update to iTunes 9 as well as to JAWS
and Window Eyes.

Remember that as much as Apple has done for accessibility, and as much as
they should be praised for that, they don't always make business decisions
with accessibility at the top of the list, and I'm not necessarily saying
that they should. The iPhone wasn't accessible when it first came out.
Neither were the iPods. Ditto for iTunes. Also, don't forget that Apple also
sells Macs with Voice Over, so I'm not sure getting the Windows based
version of iTunes working with other screen readers is at the top of their
list.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the information.

I am using ITunes 9 with Jaws 11.

I will have to check on the Jtunes sccripts.
It's amazing to me that with ITunes being so popular, FS hasn't done more
toard making it accessible with JAWS..

Liz
