Hey Craig,

Basically, a blind person explores the screen with one finger.
As your finger discovers items on the screen, they are spoken to you.

Once you've found something you want to click on, you then tap the
screen with a second finger, or double tap the screen with your
exploring finger. You don't need to tap where you found the item.
The phone remembers the last item you found, and you can double tap
anywhere on the touchscreen.

There are also specific gestures (way to tap, swipe, etc.) that
navigate applications.

I know several totally blind people who are using, and are happy with,
the iPhone. I also know several totally blind people who don't like
it.

May I suggest joining the viphone list if you want to find out more?
YOu can visit http://www.googlegroups.com/group/viphone
