I have a weather radio, and it is great especially here in Western WI.  I am
also a weather freak, and love bad weather.  It is great for anytime of
year, and if you are in an area that is prone to bad weather, I would check
reviews on it first, and listen to your peers on this list.  They also use
the same frequency for the Amber Alert system and will issue alerts over
this as well.
