[Electronics-talk] Help with Grundig Talking attomic watch!

Annette,

I have had one of those watches since the beginning. The braille
has never worked and the battery does not last longer than three
months, even with light usage. I will never buy another. When I
need a new battery, I go to a jeweler for it. The jewler gives
me a $10 coupon every other time, so the cost is not bad. I get
a battery put into it when I'm going to travel. The current
battery, put in in September, died this week. I probably will
not have it replaced until June.

Evelyn

Yes, batteries are an issue with watches. I have a
braille/talking watch
that stopped working with in 5 days of getting it. They would
not take it
back because it was the 3rd replacement in less then 2 months.
If anyone
knows how to get to the battery on this watch that would be great
news.

Just curious. How do you replace the battery in one of these
watches? I
have a drawer full of dead talking watches whose batteries are
not easily
replaceable by the user. And because they are so cheap, a
jewelry or watch
repair place won't touch them.

Hi Brian. Unlike Gerald, I have had great success with the
atomic watches

and clocks. I live in Wheeling, so we are not that far apart.
Occasionally, my wrist watch misses the signal out of Fort
Collins CO.,
but this is very rare. I have checked my watches against WWV
and the seem

to be very accurate. Unfortunately, I have never had a Grundig.
Maybe it

is just too good to be right! Were you able to set the time
zone? Even
when I have had a battery replaced, my units seem to reset
themselves
 within 24 hours. Good luck

I received the signal yesterday Jerald! I live in Pittsburgh and
have had

a few of these watches that have worked perfectly!

To be perfectly honest, I think these atomic watches and clocks
are a
rip-off. I purchased a talking atomic clock a few years ago,
but could
never get it to set itself automatically. Maybe if you live in
Colorado

where the signal originates you might get your watch to set
itself to
the correct time. But I think it's strictly hit or miss. I
suggest
contacting the seller ormanufacturer for assistance.

I've just received a grundig talking attomic watch with an
expanssion
rist band! My question is I'm having trouble with it picking up
the
attomic digital signal for the USA EST! It doesn't update for
me What

do I do? I set the global signal to EST time before bed and laid
the
thing face down on a flat surface and that didn't work! Please
help!
