[Electronics-talk] Spanish to English Translator for Blind people

I am posting this question on behalf of a co-worker. I have already told him
that I doubted if there was a device that would do what his friend wants
with spoken words but there are several software packages that will
translate scanned documents into Spanish and other languages. So if anyone
knows of a device like his friend wants please reply to the e-mail provided
in his message below.
TIA

Subject: Spanish to English Translator for Blind people

Hello,

Is there a translator blind people can speak a Spanish word and the machine
says the English word?

A friend named Patrick at our church wants one.

Patrick does not have a computer, so it would have to be a stand-alone unit.

Thank you
