hi,
i called olympus america customer support.
none of their recorders stop using battery power unless you hold the slide
until you hear the tone which is easy to forget.
the dm2 and dm4 have voice guidance and lithium battery that can be
recharged from a usb port.
i am about to purchase a usb device and ni-mh aaa batteries for about $30
instead of the dm2 which is $250.
