According to the web site, the purpose of the list is:

This list is intended for the sharing of information about, and
   discussion of the accessibility of various consumer electronics
   devices. Sharing of information about, and discussion of MP3 players;
   cell phones and other telephones; DVD players, receivers and other
   stereo and video components; satellite and HD radios; and household
   appliances including microwaves, washers, dryers, stoves, and the like;
   is appropriate and encouraged. With more and more devices having
   inaccessible controls or displays, a place to share information and
   experiences is needed.

I agree that with VoiceOver being included on so many products, the line is blurred, but I think it's clear that Mac computers, or PC's, are not on topic for this list. Furthermore, there are pletny of other lists where this discussion is appropriate and encouraged.

I also don't think there was anything wrong with David's message. As the moderator of a list, David doesn't need to have to know about the existence of every other off topic list out there, especially when we all have access to Google and can find them on our own.
