I think someone has already described vibrating watches on this list.
Note that most vibrating watches just vibrate to signal some kind of an
alarm or an event. The Tissot Silen-T is different because it actually
uses vibration to tell you the time. My understanding, and I've only
read this description on line, is that you press the stem and start
running your finger around the outside of the watch face when you want
to know the time. You'll get a solid vibration when your finger runs
over where the hour hand is pointing and a staggered vibration for the
minute hand. I've heard that this was designed by Tissot for the blind,
but I've also heard it was designed by the sportsman or businessman who
wanted to know the time but couldn't see the face or didn't want to be
noticed checking the time.
