[Electronics-talk] Accessible Stove/oven

The new gas ranges, actually, gas ranges that have been manufactured for
the last 20 years or so, have to have an electric igniter. No more
having to light the pilot yourself.

Hi, Gerald,

I was in a similar situation in graduate school in Ann Arbor during the
'69'70 academic year. I stayed in that apartment only one semester. I
used the oven only one to prepare a meal for a guest and myself and had
to get my reader, who lived across the hall, to come and start the oven.
I heard a pop when he started it, and the hair on the back of his hand
was singed. Never again! No more gas range for me!
