I used dimo tape; similar to stick on dots only with a label for them.
but for a stove you need a real permanent maker on your dial so you know 
what is high, medium, low.

Hi all I wanted to let you o I also use the high mark on my
microwave and all I had to do was to have someone draw thick
lines with the high mark and let them sit over night and it was
ready for use in the morning.  When the microwave gets warm, the
high mark does not melt.  I hope this information is helpful.
