I heard about the results of a study comparing iphone to android recently 
and one of the findings is that android users usually pay twice the amount 
of money for apps they download than iphone users.  The reason for this is 
different marketing strategies used on the android side.  So in terms of 
cost models, larger up front cost for iphone with smaller costs for apps 
or smaller up front cost for android with larger costs for apps.
