If you're bad about backing up, perhaps you might try subscribing to 
Carbonite.  Or, if you have Cox Communications High Speed Services, they 
allow you to backup your data for free.
I'm not sure about Carbonite's monthly fee.  But I hear it's not that 
expensive.
