The only situation where I would disagree is if you buy one of those
overpriced and underfeatured micros from the blindness catalogs.

No matter what city you live, or what cost of living it is, I still
insist that fixing an old microwave will cost much more than buying a
new one.
I learned that lesson the hard way.
