[Electronics-talk] UBER

Hey Everyone,

I'm not entirely sure if this is on topic for this list, but as long
as the message is posted, I'd like to add a few quick things here.

Uber is generally not as cheap as taking a cab. My rides to date say
it's about 10% higher in cost. Often worth it though!

When you set up an Uber account, you'll put in your credit card
number. So, you don't have to worry about paying or tipping the
driver directly. You can rate the driver later.

You also get emails indicating your ride, fare, etc. in case you ever
need to dispute a fare.

There is an Uber app for the iPhone. You can launch the app, see how
close the nearest cab is, and then submit a request to have the cab
come get you. You and the driver can call each other using the app,
which can be very handy.

Uber isn't everywhere. You can either check their web site or
download the app and launch it. It'll tell you if Uber is in your
area or not. I know it's in Boston, D.C., and San Francisco. I'm
sure it's in other places as well.

Enjoy!

Jim
