[Electronics-talk] List moderation [was"Re: UBER"]

I'm not sure I'm following this thread, but if Vince is saying that he
thinks David needs an assistant in moderating this list then I just
wonder why he thinks that? I would think that if you want to help
someone then you'd do what they asked of everyone on the list, namely
let David moderate the list. If Vince or anyone else has a problem with
David's moderation of the list then take it up with David off list, as
he asks people to do in the information page for this list. If Vince
thinks he's actually helping cut down on the off topic posts on this
list then I'd just like to point out the almost dozen messages we've
seen on this topic since Vince started to point out the thread was off
topic. I've never seen a moderator want-to-be actually improve the
health of a list. If David wants Vince or anyone else to help moderate
the list then David should announce that on the list and then anyone
acting as the moderator should point that out whenever they make a
request as a moderator of the list. I've found this to be the most
effective way to manage a list and cut down on the off topic posts.
