Here are two simple ideas to consider:
If doing a search for a phone number or an address, why not Google it at
www.google.com
I do it all the time and it works for me.
Another way, and I don't know how accessible that is, go to:
Google Search App for your phone
http://www.google.com/mobile/google-mobile-app_exp/index.html
