You have a great point, We have old clunky TV's that are still alive after fifteen or so years, but when they die, I'm buying the cheapest, crappiest smallest TV that's digital, cause if the pictures goes out, I wouldn't care.

It would make sense, however, that some blindness company put out a digital TV box as you have said. The only thing is, it would cost a bloody fortune as most things for the blind do. they have us over a barrel you know, smile.

Instead of introducing an HD radio , the audio benefits of which are dubious in a unit of this size, Insignia would have been better off offering an AM/FM radio that can also receive the audio portion of digital TV broadcasts, much like the old analog AM/FM/TV band radios. Do we really need a 32" high definition LCD TV just to hear the audio portion of the digital TV signal? I would much rather have the ability to listen to digital TV stations on a compact radio than a bunch of HD radio stations churning out more right-wing and hip-hop garbage.

>> HD radio is what is radio's answer to HD tv. Those who say there's no difference between analog FM and HD radio must have a lot of wax in their ears or else be unable to tell the difference; because, I assure you, there is a difference. Even if you happen to be in a market which does not offer any HD stations, (I can get them here.), the radio would still be a good buy. Why? HD radios are much more sensitive even when receiving regular analog FM and AM signals. If you'd bothered to read the page Dave sent us a link to, you would have noticed a detailed description of the radio's accessibility. Furthermore, if you go to the Best Buy page and look at the radio, you will notice an even further description. I don't get y'all at all. I really don't. Y'all whine and cry for accessibility; and, when somebody out there makes an effort, y'all just tera it down. Y'all just ain't never satisfied I guess.

Also, the financial health of Best Buy is on very shaky grounds, and it could go under at any time, leaving owners of this new product in the lurch. And Best Buy's store-brand Insignia products have not enjoyed a good reputation for quality. A few years ago, they introduced a voice-command clock radio that was beset by all kinds of technical glitches. It was quickly discontinued and wound up on Cowboom.com selling for only $8. So let's see if Insignia's latest attempt at a blind -friendly radio is a real improvement.
