Rob-

I would suggest getting it, and it is bettr to ask how to do it rather then
letting them do it for you

Hi Steve and List,

Am I correct in assuming you have full functionality with iOS 5.1.1
including Perkins keyboard input with the RefreshiBraile 18? If so, I am
inclined to go ahead and update the iOS on my iPhone. It also occurs to me I
will have the opportunity to give it a test drive at NFB national convention
in Dallas about aa month from now, assuming that APH or a licensed dealer
will host a booth in the exhibition hall. I'm sure the company rep will be
more than happy to pair the braille display device with my iPhone,
especially if s/he senses a hot sales prospect. <lol> Thanks to all who
provided input.
Best regards,

Subject: [Electronics-talk] iOS Updating Question

Good morning list colleagues,

The settings screen on my 3g iPhone is prompting me to update the iOS to
version 5.1.1, which under normal circumstances would be a no-brainer.
However, my decision is complicated by knowing that Apple dropped the ball
by forgetting to update the terminal emulation module of its API which
disables qwerty and Perkins keyboard input into iOS devices via Bluetooth
braille displays such as the RefreshiBraille 18 which I will be purchasing
in the near future. Does anyone on list know if the API bug has been
resolved at Apple? The other piece to this dilemma is that the settings
screen will not alow me to reach anything else in the settings menus. Thanks
in advance for any and all info and guidance.

Best regards,

Rob Tabor & Guide Cane Raúl Junior
