Hi,
No I think your experience is common to many of us. Speaking strictly for myself as it pertains to radios sporting the addition of the hd signals to the already crowded fm band having voice output or perhaps more presets or even direct number input  for frequencies merely gives one a greater point of reference when it comes to radios whose tuners are more digital in nature.

Whenever this discussion comes up, it makes me wonder how blind people
have used radios as long as there have been radios.  I have been blind
for almost 40 years, and God knows how many radios I have owned, and
somehow, I've always been able to tune them. Gee! Am I extraordinary, or
what?
