We purchased the Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer set about 2 years ago. I
have found them to be pretty accessible.

Subject: [Electronics-talk] New Accessible Laundry Appliances

Hi, Folks. Not sure if anyone may be aware, but I think I found a good
company that makes washers and dryers that are accessible. They're called
Fisher-Paykel, and they're based in New Zealand. That said, however, they
sell a lot of appliances here in the U.S., and their prices are pretty
competitive. I checked out the combo at a place called Porrier's Home
Appliance in Newton, MA, and ordered the washer/dryer set for about $1,550
including a 4-year service contract and state sales tax. They seem to be
quality built items, stainless steel tubs, etc. The units have both buttons
and a dial, plus audible beeps. The Web site is:

www.fisherpaykel.com

Check it out.--Matthew Chao
