[Electronics-talk] New Victor Stream review

I bought the new generation of the Victor Reader Stream, and got it the
other day.
I like it. It's a bit smaller than the old Stream. It's about the same
size as my N82 cell phone with the KNFB Reader on it.
The new Stream doesn't have the 2 speakers on the front; instead, the
speaker is on the top. It is quite loud, though.
The keys look to be the same size as on the old Stream.
There is a new key between the GoTo key and the Bookmark key, which turns on
or off the wireless connection. So far though, it seems like the wireless
can only be used to get updates from Humanware. I'm hoping they will build
in more uses for it. It would be nice to download directly to the Stream
from Newsline, Bookshare or NLS, I think. And the blurb on the Humanware
website talks about using it for Internet radio, which would be neat. But
none of that seems to be happening yet.
The new Stream can record in a variety of MP3 formats, or .wav. It's
possible to insert a bookmark while recording, which I really like.
So far, there's no leather case for the new Stream. I hope Executive
Products comes out with one; that thing has saved my old Stream many times.
There's going to be a silicon case for the new Stream. I suppose it will be
like the silicon case for the N82.
The new Stream charges via USB port, or with a little wall charger that can
attach to a USB cable. It looks smaller to carry around than the old
charger, and one can use any compatible USB charger with it, too.

Anyway, I thought people might be interested to hear something about the new
machine.
Tracy
