A few more corrections to Jude's email.

Android 2.3 Ginger Bread was a cell phone only version of Android.
Android 3.0 Honeycomb was probably the version of Android running on the
tablet being referred to.

Talk Back started being included with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
This was the version where you'd draw a square to activate Talk Back.
Android 4.1 Jellybean changed this gesture to just holding two fingers
on the screen.

Windows tablets do not run a cut down version of Windows CE. They run
Windows 8 in the case of the Surface Pro and Windows RT in the case of
the Surface. They both come with Narrator, and although I haven't used
it myself, it's a more robust Narrator than you see in Windows 7.
