I'm getting hours of enjoyment on my iPhone from the New York Times 
Crossword Puzzle.  You can subscribe for the daily puzzle, but why pay?  The 
free app gives you a starter pack of 30 puzzles or so from easy to very 
hard, with a few Sunday puzzles thrown in, and "puzzle packs" for $1.99 
each, give you sets of 30 more puzzles, sorted by  easy, intermediate, hard, 
and Sunday.  You can choose a"list" option that lets you just put in the 
clues, or plug the answers into the actual puzzle layout, and the settings 
allow you automatically to jump from one entry to the next.  A menu lets you 
know whether your choice was correct or not, and crosses out the wrong 
letters.  Apple's Voiceover is really good with this game, but a little 
sight does help, though.  I use a magnifying glass to supplement the 
auditory prompts.  Enjoy!
