We have the Whirlpool duet washer and dryer High Efficiency front load
machines. The main dial clicks and you can tell where it is pointing. The
buttons for making adjustments to the default settings make a tone when you
press them. So if you are changing the water temperature and you have 3
choice for example Hot, warm and cold, you will hear a high pitch tone when
you select the top choice, a medium tone when you press the button again to
select the middle choice and a lower pitch tone when you press the button a
third time. A fourth press of the button will go back to the highest pitch
for the item at the top of the list. Unfortunately, I heard that they are
no longer making the Duet line, but I do not know how accurate that info is.

HTH,
Annette

Subject: [Electronics-talk] Looking for recommendations on accessible high
efficiency washer

Hi all! Our washer died yesterday and as the subject line says, I'm now on
a mission to find an accessible high efficiency, preferably top loader
washer. I'd appreciate suggestions anyone might have on a washer that
either has tactile and/or audible controls, or that can easily be labeled
with braille or sticky dots.

Thanks a bunch,

Tonia
