[Electronics-talk] netflix and hulu

The tv does not have to be hooked up to cable which comes from your local 
cable company for apple tv to work. You hook apple tv up to your tv using 
HDMI cables & you're able to watch programs from it from such places as 
Netflix, Hulu, ESPN Mobile if you still happen to have cable & have login 
information... This is the rout that my wife & I have taken. We cut the 
cord, no more Comcastic for us, saving about 85 dollars a month when you 
factor back in the cost of Netflix & Hulu+ that we pay for.
