Annette, what do you do for warm or hot liquids?
I just put the tip end of my finger over the top of the glass or cup and 
wait until the liquid hits my finger.  Yes, hot stuff can hurt a little. 
But what else can I do?  Don't carry the audible liquid indicator with me.
