Good morning Michael and List,

I agree with Michael there is a lot to be said for those good ole fashion
electric perculators. They make and keep the coffee hot for as long as you
want. If you leave the house or or are finished drinking coffee you just
unplug the pot and you're good to go. My onlyquestion is can these old time
electric perculators be found anymore?Of course there is always eBay which
has everything but that would likely be a second hand coffee maker. I
suspect finding a brand new electric perculator is an iffy proposition. By
all means, somebody let us know if you run across one.

I suppose I am old fashioned but I use a simple electric perculator.  You
just pour in the desired amount of water, scoop in the required amount of
coffee, and plug in.  In afew minutes you have very hot and very good
coffee.  No buttons and easy clean-up.

Hello all,
I have a Keurig mini brewer, and I use the my k-cup filter to prepare  my
own coffee when I am running low on K-cups. I also have an older model of
the Cuisine Art grind and brew machine. So far, I havent' had any difficulty
in using either one I prefer the Keurig when I am getting ready for work,
and I enjoy preparing coffee in the grind and brew maker when I have a bit
more time.
I also like a brand of K-cups called San Francisco Bay. The coffees are
quite robust and the K-cups are made mostly from paper, so they are a little
easier to dispose of.

Mine is a Hamilton Beach that I recently got for Christmas.  It has a pot on
one side and a single serve component on the other.  The filter baskets come
out easily and the button to start the brewing process is a round button
that's easy to find.  I'm sure there are other features to it that I haven't
figured out yet but so far it meets my needs.
Also, Tracy's right, it does take a bit of prep work to make coffee and a
bit to clean up.  With my old coffee maker I used to use a funnel to pour
the water in to it because I kept pouring water on to to the counter.  If
the issue is that you haven't done it a lot all I can say to do is practice
and keep practicing.  I'm totally blind also and it took me years before I
could make a decent cup of coffee.  My dad is sighted and has been making
coffee for years and still makes a huge mess.
If there's a touch screen involved maybe there's a way to mark it with puffy
paint or Braille markings.  Good luck and happy coffee drinking.  :) Serena
