[Electronics-talk] Telework/work fromhome/work virtually/telecommute?

Hi,
Yes, unfortunately, medical transcription is going away.
That was a good field for a blind person.
You can do a lot at home especially working for yourself. People sell
insurance from home; they may have a writing job. Distance teaching and
tutoring are also growing fields. So, you tutor or teach remotely.

Customer service reps often work at home. For instance, Jet blue and Delta
have reps from home. Look on your newspaper site or local jobs site for
specific ideas. Here we have dcjobs.com and I'm sure other areas like New
York have their own
Unfortunately, as with many jobs, the software may not be accessible. I've
always wondered how blind people can telework. For instance, my dad logs
into a system to access his desktop like he was at work; Ii'm not sure if
such systems are accessible. I have wondered how I might do remote access
from my pc. like if I was at school, if I could access the home pc. Sighted
people do it a lot via remote desktop applications but not sure if it would
work with jaws, probably not.

Der Jenny,

Even the medical transcribing jobs are going away; a friend checked
on one--for a large company--don't remember which one it was, but when
they interviewed him, they wanted money.
Do not ever take a work-at-home job that requires you to pay
anything, not including jobs like Avon or Amway where you may have to
purchase a kit or something.

Hi,

I'm sorry I'm coming late as usual to this, but I'd like to know the same
thing.

I don't want to do medical transcription. That is what a lot of Blind
people do at home from what I've seen.

If there is any ideas, please share.
