[Electronics-talk] Telework/work from home/work virtually/telecommute?

JAWS Tandem is a good option for conducting remote JAWS training.
Occasionally a company's network firewall prevents this from working.
The ability for JAWS to work successfully with a remote virtual Private
Network (VPN) is dependent on the VPN tool being used by the company. The
agency I work for recently switched to AnyConnect and my ability to access
the agency's network and my electronic documents has improved. JAWS 14
works well with it, but JAWS 12 does not. Now that the agency has completed
their testing of JAWS 14 and approved its use on our network, I am waiting
for it to be installed on my work computer.
Because my job requires me to work with our employees nationwide, I am able
to do my job via telework 1-2 days a week as long as it does not interfere
with some tasks that have to be done in the office such as inventory of new
products, shipping preparation of products, set-up and training of new
products at a local site, and closing out of a case by assembling hard
copies of all documents into a physical case folder. I can participate
remotely in most meetings. The only ones that I am required to be in the
office for are those that are using interactive video conferencing.
Employee's currently do not have access to this technology on our individual
work stations. Even if we did I could not use it as JAWS is not currently
compatible with it.

There is a remote access feature with JAWS. I haven't used it myself, but I
assume that if you have JAWS on both systems then you can access one machine
from the other with JAWS.
Whenever I've worked remotely, I just used the same software at home I used
at the office, and used VPN to securely tunnel into the company's network.
