[Electronics-talk] cable access

One thing I repeatedly pointed out to my cable provider metrocast was that
the entire on demand programming list they show on certain channels could
be put on an internal web page and cable subscribers could then access
that web page and order those programs over the internet. Any of these
cable providers could do that and it wouldn't be any kind of supercomplex
or expensive accessibility solution. All the web site would need to ask
for was a password after testing the connection to verify that the order
was coming in on the actual cable network and which place needed the
programs and an internet email reminder of the channel and time to watch.
The password could be used to verify that it was the authorized subscriber
at that address that has ordered the programs and if the cable company
already has that subscriber's credit card or debit card information,
automatically charge that card for the programs then provide those
programs. Sometimes accessibility is as simple as using a lead pencil in
space rather than inventing a special pen to write in space and I think
this is one of those instances. If anyone else can or would like to use
this idea, please do so!
