Subject: [Electronics-talk] Talking Pill from Walgreens
Hi everyone, I thought I would like to shair this and I got this device
yesterday from Walgreens.
Walgreens Pharmacy has a new device called the talking pill. This is a
device to assist blind and visually impaired individuals so they will know
what prescription they are taking if they are unable to read the bottles.
The device is about the size of a bottle cap and it attaches to the bottom
of the bottle or box of prescription medication. The buttons have dots on
them and the button with a single dot is the talk button and the button with
two dots is a timer button. The pharmacist records the information such as
the patient's name, prescription number, physician who ordered the
prescription and the instructions on how to take the medication. The
pharmacist can also record information such as which medications if any it
will interact with. It's not a synthesizer computer voice and it's the
actual person who is filling the medication and it's their own voice. You
can also stop and start the information if necessary. If you call in a
pirscription, then let the call center know that you want the talking pill
to be placed on your bottles and you will have to sign a vouture to get this
device for free. If you know anyone who is need of this device please spread
the word!
