[Electronics-talk] iPhone help requested from an iPhone oldie

Hello, Elizabeth.

The email address "accessibility at apple.com" is monitored by folks at
Apple who pass accessibility concerns onto developers. As an iPhone
veteran, you may know of this address. Beyond this provision, I know of
no other recourse except that you might want to join the AppleVis
community at

http://www.applevis.com

I believe they have a forum devoted to developers. While these people
are not Apple employees, they do develop apps and might be able to offer
you suggestions about channeling your suggestions to those who are in a
genuine position to act on them.

I frequently use symbols and words from the French, Spanish, and French Canadian keyboards, and I constantly hit the language key accidentally when I want to start dictation or toggle to the number keyboard. I then have to interrupt my flow of writing and tap through the list of language keyboards I've programmed in, or end up with lines and lines of gibberish. Sacre Bleu!

I won't find out about this until I discover a whole block of beautifully composed text plunked down in the wrong place in my message that I have to destroy and recreate in its rightful spot. And if I get frustrated trying to catch my iPhone in the act and swear at it, my naughty words can show up on the page as well, since the machine is still "thinking...". Thank goodness this happened only once, and I caught it right away (I always read through and edit my email before hitting the Send button). This cursor-jumping phenomenon is an intermittent sabotage, so I keep wanting to dictate. Has anyone else experienced this?
