I just googled a manual for the scanner I have the other day and it popped up as a PDF document online. Also, some scanners may have tips and tricks on YouTube.
Good luck

Subject: [Electronics-talk] Scanner manual and cell phone blockage

Hi list, ken here with two questions. first I have a scanner think a bearcat it’s one where all the frequencies are preprogrammed into different groups. have buttons on it for police, fire/ems, aircraft and ham radio and soforth. have a button for private bank where I can put in 50 private channels but lost the book. can I obtain instructions for a scanner if I can determine the model of it? want to program some local items into it that I know are in the police block but can’t actually find. there are something like 1500 frequencies in that block. also my second question. kind’a a dumb one but am still new to having a cell. have noticed my cell phone has a tough time staying connected to T mobile’s network especially in my bedroom. it has no trouble anywhere else. when I finish a meeting I can call home to let my sister know I’m on the way back. also took a call on the way to the computer talk meeting. this seems to be recent. what causes a cell phone’s ability to stay on the network in some rooms of a house and not others. My sister is on a different carrier. it’s very strange. only fairly recent. back to that scanner question ham radio is Dead on two meters and 440. not sure if the scanner has 220 on it.
