Susan,
The LG Revere that I mentioned before works with page plus which I use
myself. You can get one of them that will work with Verizon and page plus on
e-bay for around $25. This phone speaks most of the menus.

I was more interested in something that had voice output, but this could be
an option to consider if I can't find one. Thanks!

When my phone broke, I got a $20 flip phone at radio shack and put $30 in
minutes on it. It worked for the month I needed it for. It was a phone that
had buttons you could feel, made calls and nothing else. I could not access
the address book, but the guy at radio shack programmed 10 important numbers
into speed dial. Is this what you are looking for?
HTH
Mark
