Are scatter lights the ones where one side of the street goes, then the
other side of the street goes? If so, we had that in the 1990s. I was able
to use one, but it was hard. It's been a long time since I used it, so I
don't remember how. Pam.

Both scatter lights and round abouts are appearing here in the L. A.
area. There are round abouts in Santa Monica and long beach, and scatter
lights in Westwood and Brentwood.

Where in California? I live in San Francisco, and have traveled quite a
bit in Hollywood, Santa Monica, and San Diego. I've seen plenty of
cocked up intersections, but none I couldn't negotiate better by
listening to traffic patterns, rather tham listening to traffic lights.

Of courss this is not a new topic, it's been talked about since the 80s.
However, I still have not been convinced that APS technology is more
reliable than traffic patterns.

I know this is a controversial topic, and I'm not sure where it's going,
but I want to put in my 2 cents.
