By determining the amount of water to put in the cup.  The cups have the
designation of bold extra bold and regular.  For optimum flavor, the regular
take the 6 ounce setting, bold the 8 ounce setting and the extra bold the
ten ounce setting.  If people like the weaker coffee they can buy the
regular or bold coffee and set the water to come in at the rate of the next
level.

Eh, Sharon?  How does a button control the strength of coffee?
I thought it all depend on the amount of coffee one uses, or the color of 
the coffee itself.
