[Electronics-talk] Skype and jaws 13?

Hello everyone!

 

I was wondering if anyone had ran across this problem before.  If I stay
signed in to Skype, be it via the windows live account, the skype account,
or the facebook account, jaws keeps announcing "Skype status: unknown", then
in a minute or so, "Skype Status: online. click to change."  I am running
windows 7 on a Dell XPS with jaws 13.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  I have
been told that this is also happening to my account online.  By this I mean
that others who are in my contacts list see me go offline and then back
online very frequently.  I have made sure all updates are installed and that
the internet connection is staying up.  to ensure the internet connection is
staying up, I have streamed a movie from netflix and had the same frequency
of the messages pop up.  I would think that the netflix weblink would drop
sometime if the connection was dropping out as much as the skype message was
popping up.

 

Are there any more reliable methods to text with folks from facebook and
windows messenger than skype?
