I also use the regular Amazon site without difficulty.  In fact, I went into my account yesterday to update my credit card info.

Maybe try the regular site to see if it is easier if you haven't already.

Nonetheless, I successfully use Amazon's regular site with JAWS so there may be a setting in JAWS or IE or Firefox or whatever browser he's using that's different.

I think he's saying that the Amazon web site works with System Access but not with JAWS, and he resents the fact that he needs two use two different screen readers. He doesn't say why he needs JAWS though and why he can't just do everything with System Access.
