[Electronics-Talk] which model of Keurig please?

Well, I tried to do some research to answer my own question. At one time it appears Keurig offered this feature, then withdrew the brewer which had it (it evidently failed to work properly).

I see later that the Keurig Vue model brewer does allow for this, but it appears to require you touch a special button on a touch panel in order to have milk drinks.

I also found this warning on a pack of milk K-discs:
"*Customers who have a Keurig(r) 2.0 brewer will need to select the HOT COCOA/OTHER button when brewing this product."

So, I am still not sure if a blind person can make use of this with a Keurig brewer or not.

This is the only point I was making: it's completely turn-key with the Tassimo brewer, whether you're brewing regular coffee or hot chocolate or a cappucino; you just put in the disc(s) and press "go". The barcodes instruct the brewer what to do.

Hi Pam,

What I was trying to ask, is does Kureig have a separate milk disc, or are they adding powdered milk in their primary coffee disc (which is my impression as to how they made a capachino). I thought (maybe things have changed) that the primary difference for a Tassimo was that you got a separate disc with liquid milk, liquid chocolate syrup, etc.

Thanks.

I have gotten regular coffee, capuccino, and tea from them. They might have
more directly from them, but I have never ordered anything from them. A
combination box came when I bought it, but I have gotten some of the things
in stores. I don't remember, but maybe the combination box even had hot
chocolate. In Bed Bath and Beyond, I bought Twinings English breakfast tea,
in BJ's I got Govalia coffee, and also some kind of capuccino. Other kinds
of coffee in other places. Pam.

Pam,

What is it that you can do with the Keurig? Do you mean they offer milk
drink, moca java (with a chocolate syrup pod), etc? With all the
preparation options encoded on the disc itself so you don't have to adjust
things?

Thanks.

Hi Lauren,

Can I just throw in a recommendation for the Tassimo brewer instead? It has
several advantages and is about the same price; and only has a single button
and no other control.

It's primary advantage is that it can do liquids, so you can buy packages
for late's or capachinos (with a milk pod for each); or hot chocolate; or
pumpkin spice late; or moca java (with a separate chocolate syrup pod). You
put in the milk pod and pres the button; when the sound quits you put in the
coffee or tea pod and press the button again; and you have a capachino (or
just a regular coffee if you don't use a two pod drink).

The disadvantage is that it's pods aren't sold at as many places: primarily
Bed Bath and Beyond stores; and then Amazon and other mail order places.;
All of its pods are bar coded with instructions so you don't have to do
anything, the brewer reads the instructions and does all of the operations.

They also offer a chai tea late for tea drinkers (and regular english tea;
earl gray tea; etc.).

Hth,

Hi,

As of just now, my Keurig machine has bitten the dust in a rattly way.
Please can you advise me on which model to get that still has buttons. I
knew it was on its way out because it was singing a gravelly song of
impending death.

Thanks,

Lauren
