They last forever also! I do think there are 2 or 3 sizes of it but they
are costly. I thought I had seen some on super sales but ours goes back to
the 90's and still works like a chap so can't say we're in the market for
one of those.
Best

No, Jim, that mixer is wan more dan $120. i've had one since the '80's. I
got it with some added gift money from my mom. I think it was well over
disarbjj then. It was the the largest model at the time and is very safe
to use. I had the manual brailled too, and my mom also taped it.

I am quite sure that you will not be able to buy the stand mixer for $50
but perhaps $120, though have not bought one in quite a while. We have a
blender from kitchen-Aid that is quite great.
It actually is plastic but is one piece for the pitcher, the blade and the
connection to the motor. The lid is a flexible rubber or plastic that
molds really well to the unit and does not leak. I think we paid about $90
2 or so years ago, which is higher than is necessary for a blender, but it
works really well.

Hi, everyone:

My blender/food processor died today?”the shaft that holds the blade
didn?™t seem to spin, so ended up with half-minced ham salad with huge
chunks of unprocessed stuff--WAH ! Since this unit (I think it was a
Bullet) crapped out after just a couple years, am obviously looking for
something more durable. I?™d like to focus on metal containers?”am trying
to avoid the loudness and heaviness that come often with glass and don?™t
like the chintziest of some plastics. I?™ve always dreamed of a Kitchen
Aid, because, at least when I see someone using one on TV, it?™s fairly
quiet, and quality?”but then, I?™m on a budget (hoping to go no higher than
$50.00, since I want to replace the old one fairly soon), but not averse to
saving a few pennies for what I really want. As you can tell from my
KitchenAid remarks, a stand mixer may not be out of the question, depending
on weight?”would like to store it in a cupboard.
Also, of course, no touch screen, if possible, or easily marked with
tactile dots and mastered without much trouble totally eyes-free. I may
come up with criteria I?™m spacing on momentarily as I get your feedback,
but so far, this is my list off-hand. thanks!
