[Electronics-Talk] Question About Voice Guideance and Recording.

If you got this box because you are blind, they should not be charging you
full price for the service. They are supposed to charge you for the level
of service you were having before you got the expensive box. Pam.

Hello:

Maybe that is what happened to me today. I was enjoying myself exploring
the movies and suddenly everything went silent. I don't know if I hit a
wrong button. As I said before my multiple sclerosis causes dexterity
issues and numbness in my fingers. All the buttons on the remote are quite
close with no spaces in between so hitting a wrong button is very possible.
With my old remote I can use the large print version which has bigger
buttons and they are spread far apart. Also there are less buttons on the
simple remote. Now that everything is gone I cannot even tell if my TV is
on or not because it is so quiet. I know this is still in the testing phase
but, this is not good. With this in mind, I just might have it taken out
since this level of service is more expensive than I can really afford. I
thought I would give it a try for a short discount promotion in my area but
if it is going to go all silent so I cannot even watch the local news, then
I do not want it. I suppose they will try and charge me another $70 service
call to come out again. I do not have access to any other sighted help.

Recording.

The other night I was channel surfing with the arrow keys on the side of
the remote with voice guideance turned on and for some strange reason
discovered a few things.
First if you start surfing on channel 2 and go down so you wrap around
to the highest channel numbers you're going to hit unsubscribed channels
unless you subscribed to the highest tier of service.
Second, voice guideance does not give you the opportunity to subscribe
to those channels it asks you to wait a moment and the notification
comes through speaking very fast so it's a cut off message too.
Third sooner rather than later you're going to wipe out. By wipe out I
mean everything turns off both tv and set top box and when you try to
turn them back on you'll find your channels got wiped out of your box
and you can't turn voice guideance on any more. Eventually I'll get
sighted assistance to sort this mess out and set the cable box and TV up
again but that's why comcast calls voice guideance beta software. Those
using voice guideance, especially if you don't have eyes nearby, be
careful out there and report bugs to comcast accessibility!
