I wonder if that extends to Frontier who just took over Verizon in my area
in Southern California.

Colleagues:
There has been a small flurry of accessibility advances of set top boxes in
the past week or so. I understand from friends in New York, that Verizon's
FIOS set top box now talks. We have also learned about the ROKU
accessibility.
Now I can add my trusty TIVO box to the list. As of an update this
afternoon, it is providing rather well executed audio feedback.
To activate screen reader press and hold the "A" button on the remote
for 2 seconds. Similarly to turn it off do the same.
The guide and all programming information which is generated by TIVO
appears to be accessible. Unhappily apps, including Netflix etc are not
accessible.
Brad
