You bring up a very good point. I didn't think you could change things on
the internet. I know that you should be able to look up your cable account
on their web site. Unfortunately, Charter cable's site isn't blind friendly.
Has anyone tried to use the Charter Cable web site? If so, do you know of a
way I can get on their site?

I'm not sure about the setting through the internet idea.  Suppose some scum
hacks in, turns on my oven, and burns down my house, just for the fun of it?

Why not bypass bluetooth and make appliances accessible via the Internet. 
If one can communicate with a fridge using a computer or smartphone, then
why not make it possible for one to set appliances the same way?
Now it may sound crazy, but if one doesn't have a computer or smartphone,
then they could use a landline like one can do to reset cable boxes and the
like.
