I believe that there are a couple youtube clips that demo it.

I do not know the answer to your questions. I do not think that you could
identify object, but I could be wrong.

How big or little do objects need to be to
be picked up by the glasses?
I went shoe shopping today. Could the glasses pick up the shelves of shoes,
or one shelf, or the shoes on all the shelves, or would I just know that an
object was present and have to figure out what it was?

No vision necessary. They provide feedback by vibrating. I think the
vendor said that you can request that it provide auditory feedback as well.
It was kind of neat to be able to turn my head as if I was looking around
and get feedback that something was in the direction that I was looking. If
I got no feedback, then I knew that I could turn my body in that direction
and use my cane to travel through it. The glasses are intended to provide
you feedback about objects located from waste to slightly above your head.
Your cane is taking care of detecting objects below your waste.
Given that I primarily travel with a dog guide, I'm not sure how productive
it would be wearing the glasses while working the dog. For example, if
while you are walking with your dog, you turn your head to the right to
detect a door opening to where you are going, when you find it, you cannot
abruptly turn without having given commands to your dog. Now maybe it would
be more conducive to use the glasses while leash guiding with my dog. I'm
not saying that you never can use the glasses when working a dog guide. But
just as having useable vision can negatively impact how a person works their
dog, maybe these type of glasses would have the same effect for some people.
I think it would be an interesting research project.

So, I guess one has to have some vision to use these glasses, right?
Educate me. Please. I've never heard of them.
