[Electronics-Talk] clock site audios

Hi,
Westminster chimes by luthersoft is the best one in my view although there
are many from which to choose.
the paid version of this app gets you Westminster, Whittington, Winchester,
St. Michaels and a few more that I forget. They aren't authentic chimes from
real clocks but are pleasant and realistic enough to hear. You can have it
adhere to a schedule only chiming from say 8:00 AM to 10:00 Pm or all day
and you can choose between hours only or having it do the quarters as well.
there is another app which has actual authentic chimes from real clocks but
you have to purchase the chimes you want as in app purchase and I don't find
the chimes realistic though they are to be as loud as the ones in the
Westminster app. If you want I can get the name for that one as well.
Many others like the big ben app sporting authentic big Ben chimes and
there's another one that does a cuckoo clock if that's your speed too.
I hope that helps.
Robin

Hi,
What app(s) do you have for chimes on your iPhone? That would be great! I
wasn't aware of them. I haven't decided whether to buy a clock or not from
that site, as much as wanting that site to be accessible for us. Listening
to the clocks is just plain fun anyway.

Currently, I cannot wear a watch because of a skin allergy so I am in great
need of another alternative. Chimes on my iPhone might just be it! I know I
always have access to the time on my phone however I often forget to check.
I'm more likely to check a watch. So sound would be good. I don't want beeps
and buzzers but chimes would be great!
Thanks,
Lauren

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though
war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may
dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty

therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing,
yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

Just purchase one of each, smile! I have my 5S set up with Westminster
chimes. However, the 5S is acting as my iPod now that I have my 6S+ and I
have a different chime selected. In addition, I have Westminster chime
playing on the quarter hour on the 6S+ so things are quite lively here every
fifteen minutes. I know we are talking apps versus fine expensive clocks but
what is another $1000 or $1500 for a good set of chimes, grin!

Hi,
Oh you didn't happen to notice did they have videos of the Howard Miller
quarts wall clocks?
It was a neat site to explore reading about different clocks.
One day I'm gonna find a clock that does both Westminster and Whittington.
till then I'll be content with the Westminster chimes app on my iPhone.

Hi,

I feel really embarrassed now. I just discovered that each clock has a list
of its characteristics below the listing. One of the characteristics of each
of those clocks is a "demo button." In my weirdness, I thought that "demo
button" was what I was supposed to enter on to hear the samples. So no
wonder they didn't work! I have subsequently found videos below the
listings that do work. Their site isn't totally accessible but it is better
than it used to be.

Thanks,

Lauren
