[Electronics-Talk] Accessible Stove

Dave,
At times General Electric has made overlays but at one point, they were only
doing so for electric stove/ovens. I actually think it would be possible to
do a template with braille on it if one had access to a DIY tech location.
It seems like one could take a picture of the touchpad on an iPhone and
develop a template. I am considering doing that. We actually created labels
on ours with sticky sheets more than dimo tape. It has been our experience
though that these need to be redone quite often. Lots of stuff from cooking
ends up on those labels so they do not stay as well as many others do.

Here is a real novelty -- an accessible appliance question. I am in the
market for a new stove. Does anyone have knowledge as to who might have
Braille overlays for the oven controls. In the less expensive stoves, there
are knobs for burners, but oven controls tend to be a flat panel.
