hi all,
THis is what I found on the Cox website,

Summary
Learn how the Contour 2 Voice Guidance feature provides additional accessibility for visually impaired customers.

Solution
When turned on, Voice Guidance reads the contents of the screen out loud, including program descriptions and navigation instructions. Voice Guidance is available on the following screens.

Guide
Main Menu
Mini guide
Saved Menu
Settings Menu
If you have a visual impairment, you can use the Voice Guidance feature to navigate the Contour 2 menu and onscreen guide independently.

Use the steps below to turn Voice Guidance on or off.

Press the A button on the Cox remote to access the Help Menu.
Press the A button again to access the Voice Guidance On / Off dialog box.
Press OK to turn Voice Guidance on or off.
Voice Guidance can also be managed through the Settings menu. See Using the Contour 2 Settings Menu <http://www.cox.com/residential/support/tv/article.cox?articleId=5d29cf60-f018-11e4-5b67-000000000000> for details.

This sounds like a clone of Comcast’s service.

It looks like Comcast is the only company with a talking TV interface. Has anyone heard from any of the other cable companies about their plans to make their boxes accessible? I’m surprised that we didn’t hear anything at Convention. On another note, I read on another list that Comcast improved Voice Guidance so that it will now read notifications, such as incoming phone calls and voicemails. Has anyone noticed this? It doesn’t seem to be working on my system. I’m really impressed with what Comcast has done, but it’s time for other companies to catch on.
