[Electronics-Talk] Tracking exercise with Fitbit

Hi Annette.
Yep, I found the same thing. The problem is in the first sentence of the
instructions:
1Hold down the button until you see the timer start.
I'm never going to "see the timer start." I tried having someone do it for
me, and counting "1 mississ...", but it wasn't precise enough and it didn't
work.
However, Mike's explanation of how to manually log exercise through the app
is working adequately, so I'm good.
Thanks.
Tracy

Tracy,

I checked with my daughter and husband, and they have the Fitbit Zip and the
Fitbit Charge, so they do not know how to use the Fitbit 1. I did a quick
Google search and found the following:

With the Fitbit One (and others) you can turn on multisport mode (also known
as exercise mode) to capture stats about a specific workout and record the
details in your exercise history.
Use the timer on your Fitbit OneT to track a specific activity in greater
detail. For example, if you put your tracker in exercise mode and go for a
walk or run, when you sync your tracker after your exercise you'll see a new
entry on your fitbit.com activity log. The entry provides a summary of the
activity's stats as well as a minute-by-minute graph.

To track an exercise:
1Hold down the button until you see the timer start. While your tracker is
recording an activity, its icons will blink continuously and you will see a
stopwatch for the duration of the activity.
2When you're done with your workout, hold down the button until you see the
timer stop.
3Sync your tracker.
4Log into your fitbit.com dashboard and go to Log > Activities to see the
activity. Note that you can't view activity details from the One in the
Fitbit apps.

Sorry I can't do any better than this.

Annette

I chose the Fitbit One, because it has the best battery life, and because I
didn't really fancy having another thing on my wrist.

Tracy,

Which Fitbit are you using?

Does anyone know how to track exercise with Fitbit, either the device or the
website? I'm not having much luck with that aspect.

I found instructions that say "to track exercise, hold down the button on
your Fitbit until you see a timer start". Well, I won't see a timer, or
anything at all, but I got someone to help me do that at the gym, but it
still didn't log the time.

I also tried logging my exercise on the website, but it wasn't easy to find,
and worked once, but not the next time.

It's not important, but it annoys me that it doesn't count all the work I
put in at the gym, or going swimming. If anyone knows how to get this done,
please clue me in.

Thanks.

Tracy
