[Electronics-Talk] Bathroom scale

I looked at that braille scale, because I wanted to buy it. Unfortunately,
it had a hand that was supposed to go to the weight you are, and it waved
around and I couldn't use it because every time I touched it, it would
impede it, or move it or whatever. I couldn't figure out how to use it
without having these problems, even when I used the lightest touch I could.
Also, once around was fifty pounds. I couldn't figure out where it was
trying to stop at. Pam.

I have never had much luck with talking scales. I emphasize that this has
been my own personal experience and should not be taken as a general rule or
warning. David Andrews use advice is excellent.
Many years ago, the American Foundation for the Blind had a scale with a
waist-high touch dial and I found it quite satisfactory. I don't believe
it's made anymore.

I got one like that from Amazon. I boxed it up, sent it back, and got a
refund. I also ordered another one. It is one that will tell you the body
fat percentage too. I am not at home, so I can't say exactly which one it
is, but I can look when I get home. I just wanted to let you know I had a
similar experience with that glass one.

Before you trash your talking scale, and buy a new one, try replacing the
battery.

I have a talking bathroom scale I got at Amazon. It looks like a flat piece
of glass with feet.

This morning, I weighed myself, and the answer didn't sound right, so I did
it again to see if I got something similar. I weighed myself 5 times before
I got 2 similar numbers, and the range was about 10 pounds between 1 minute
and the next. So this scale is pretty much useless.

Can anyone recommend a talking scale that's reasonably accurate?

Thanks.

Tracy
